AIDScience Report:
Calculating the potential epidemic-level impact of therapeutic vaccination on the San Francisco HIV epidemic
This model suggests that modestly effective HIV therapeutic vaccines used in combination with antiretrovirals could potentially, under defined conditions, have a fairly significant impact on the epidemic.

— By Sally M. Blower, Ronald B. Moss, Eduardo Fernandez-Cruz.

Hot News:
Use of dried whole blood spots to measure CD4+ lymphocyte counts in HIV-1-infected patients
Whole blood spots dried on filter paper were used to measure CD4+ lymphocyte counts. Measurements compared well with those obtained from matched liquid whole-blood samples analyzed with standard flow cytometry, with flow cytometry CD4 counts greater than 200 cells/µL. Lancet 362, 1459 (2003).

NeuroAIDS: Prediction of incident neurocognitive impairment by plasma HIV RNA and CD4 levels early after HIV seroconversion
High HIV plasma RNA levels and low CD4+ T cell counts soon after seroconversion are associated with a higher risk of neuropsychological impairment. Archives of Neurology 60, 1406, October 2003.
